Powerful Partnership between Phytium “Chip” and “Digital Ansteel”

In January 2025, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during his inspection of Bengang Group, an affiliate of Ansteel, that “the manufacturing industry should steadfastly pursue high-end, intelligent, and green development, continuously enhancing the technological content and added value of products to advance industries up the global value chain.” Recently, following in the footsteps of reporters from Xinhua News Agency, China National Radio, and other media outlets, we visited Ansteel Group, experiencing the powerful partnership between Phytium “chip” and “digital Ansteel”.

Since 2022, under the leadership of China Electronics Corporation, Phytium has successively signed strategic cooperation agreements with Ansteel Information Industry Co., Ltd. and Ansteel Digital Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. Both parties have invested nearly CNY 100 million to jointly build a steel metallurgy full process testing platform based on the Joint Laboratory for IT Applications Innovation. They have jointly trained more than 600 talents in innovative IT applications and carried out joint certification of industrial control ecology and network security equipment ecology.

In April 2024, the first domestically developed large-scale PLC control system based on Phytium CPU and independent operating system, developed by Ansteel Digital Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd, was officially put into use in Ansteel’s silicon steel welding unit, marking the first full-stack independent and secure industrial operating system in China’s steel industry. This system adopts a homemade embedded real-time operating system, capable of operating stably in the complex and harsh environment of steel production. It features internationally-leading CPU single instruction computing speed and supports most mainstream industrial control network communication protocols. “Up to now, no equipment malfunctions or safety accidents have occurred, and significant improvements have taken place in some key indicators compared to imported equipment.” The words from the on-site staff are the greatest recognition of Phytium’s quality!

“Yujia Industrial Internet Platform” is another milestone of sincere cooperation between the two parties. This platform was independently developed based on the full-stack IT application innovation base of China Electronics Corporation, achieving vertical integration from device control to enterprise-level decision-making. In August 2023, the platform was listed in the “inter-trade & inter-disciplinary” industrial Internet platform by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China.

Based on the “Yujia Industrial Internet Platform”, Ansteel Digital Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. has completed the development and application of the first full-stack independent security cloud deployment ERP system in China’s steel industry. On April 8 of this year, the system was successfully deployed in Lingyuan Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Ansteel Group, making it the first steel base to achieve business and finance integration within Ansteel Group. The smooth operation of the project has further strengthened Ansteel Group’s confidence and courage in independent R&D of software and hardware, and enhanced its determination and ability to ensure the resilience and safety of the industrial chain and the supply chain.

On the front line of digital transformation projects, staff of Phytium and Ansteel work as one. We still remember that they worked around the clock to ensure that the core business system got launched on time; remember their all-night R&D for breakthrough in the color steel room outside the construction site of the intelligent computing center; remember that they returned on the same day to visit partners for the construction of industrial control localization ecology... Through “strong technology and sincere service”, the two companies have evolved from partners into a deeply connected family, working shoulder-to-shoulder.

On May 21, 2025, Ansteel Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Electronics Corporation. Looking ahead, Phytium will continue to power the “Digital Ansteel” strategy with Chinese “chips” under the unified deployment of the group, adhere to building foundation by IT application innovation and digital and intelligent transformation, support Ansteel to integrate the development of innovation chain, industrial chain, and supply chain, and work together with Ansteel to jointly promote the deepening and implementation of IT application innovation in the steel industry!
